Children's Parade
We celebrated the 250th birthday of our nation together with a children's parade! Neighborhood children decorated bikes/trikes/wagons and strollers for a parade through our neighborhood.
This parade was for the greater Eastgate area, including our College Woodlands neighborhood, and over 30 children participated in the event in 2026.
Lineup: 8:45 a.m. at Parkway Park near Marsteller Avenue
Parade Start Time: 9:00 a.m. (Route is Marsteller to Ashburn to Marsteller, ending back at Parkway Park)
After the Parade: Potluck Brunch (see the 4th of July Brunch page.) and awarding of the most festive costumed dog, with games to follow (temporary tattoos, water balloon toss, corn hole toss, cherry seed spitting contest).
